Abalone Shell

$8.00

Use an Abalone Shell to rest your sage and catch the hot cinders of the smudging stick while it burns. We recommend adding a layer of sand inside the shell to protect it and easily put off your smudge.

Tip: Abalone shells have natural holes and heat can be transferred to the shell, be mindful when handling. Place your shell over our Smudging Tray to have a secure smudging session.

  1. Close all the windows of your home or room.
  2. Light one Sage Smudge (preferably with a match or candle), you'll see some smoke
  3. Walk around each room of your home with your sage and use your feather to direct the smoke to all areas, especially corners.
  4. Leave your Smudge resting over your Abalone Shell and Tray (in a safe and non-flammable area) for 1-hour.
  5. You can either open your windows to ventilate the room or leave them closed to enjoy a purified air during 24hrs.

*Antibacterial effects of Smudging last up to 30 days.

Medicinal smoke can eliminate diverse plant and human pathogenic bacteria of the air within confined space. Burning any medicinal plant or wood, such as Sage or Palo Santo during 1-hour reduces by 94% the bacteria count in the air. The ability of the smoke to purify or disinfect the air and make the environment cleaner is maintained up to 24hrs in a closed room. The absence of pathogenic bacteria was found even after 30 days.

For the smudging ritual, you'll use all five spiritual elements: Earth (sage smudge), Wind (feather), Fire (when you lit the smudge), Water (abalone shell) and Space (the room).
